As part of the Curling Champions Tour (former World Curling Tour) we were happy to once again attend the Grasshopper Women’s Masters in Zurich from the 16th to the 18th of October. What is there to say? amazing organisation. great ice. fun games. and our best result on the Curling Champions Tour so far!!

We ended up 3rd after beating the later winner Team Schöpp, who will also be representing Germany at the Olympic Games in Vancouver later this season.

This amazing result also secured us our first (real) price money in Curling - very welcome and always needed when you’re travelling the world playing curling while being engaged in a full time job during the week. Thanks everyone for an amazing weekend and we are already looking forward to being back next year!

Whoop whoop! Scotland! Since it was our first time playing in Glasgow, we were excited to step onto the ice with so many great teams. Alex was still home with a hurting hand so we “borrowed” a fourth player from Switzerland (Team Lausanne Olympique) : Jacqueline Greiner! We finished the weekend with one win (University Games Team Great Britain) and 4 tight losses (SUI Feltscher, SCO Mirne, CHN Wang, ENG Balfour). It was definitely one of the best organized tournaments we’ve ever been to and we want to thank the whole organizing committee for a lovely weekend, good ice and good games!

Alexandra broke her hand! No kidding. We cried for about a week but had to make our way to Bern without our lovely lead who was instead trying to get live scores on the Internet (one-handed!). Nevertheless, and with only three girls on ice, we had some tough games coming up (the new European Champion Miriam Ott for example - Congratulations once again!) and managed to finish off with 2 wins against Germany (Tschetsch) and Scotland (Howard). A very memorable weekend once again - especially the roadtrip back on the next day :)

After a good first game against Croatia, we had a very close and exciting match against the Hungarian Ladies which was unfortunately lost in the extra end with a final score of 8-9. Knowing that we had to win our 3rd game against Norway to make it to the playoffs, we started off really well and scored a lead of 6-2 after 7 ends. The last 3 ends showed us the limits of our defensive game :) and so we had to give it away with a final score of 6-7.

Thanks to everyone that stayed with us and encouraged us along the way. We know that we didn’t reach our goal to go up to the A-group, but we had a lot of fun and will - of course - keep on fighting!

We won the 1. tournament of the season in Kitzbühel!

Due to the fact that there were only 7 teams participating, we had to go through 4 games in the group without playing finals. With three wins and one tight loss, we ended up being first in the overall final ranking. Thanks to all the teams, to the organization and to the sparkasse for the beautiful trophies.

The annual Sparkassen Tournament takes place this weekend in the Sportspark Kitzbühel. Since we´ve only played tournaments abroad so far, we decided to enter the tournament this year. We need as much practice as possible - the European Championships in Sweden start in two weeks! We are looking forward to seeing many of you.

What an amazing weekend in Bern! After we played three games on Friday and three games on Saturday, we made it to the playoffs for the quarterfinals for the first time. Unfortunately, we lost in a very close match against the likeable team from Thun-Kyburg with skip Stefan Haesler on Sunday. We had a great time in Bern and will be back next year for sure!
